TECO in Vietnam Awards 2019 Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam held a ceremony in Hanoi on August 6, to award the 2019 Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships. There were 55 recipients this year, of whom 54 are from Northern Vietnam (Hue province and to its north). The other recipient is from Laos.

Kiwi student wins Mandarin public speaking contest in Taipei

The Annual Exhibition for Students of SPOSAD Ended Well

Ministry of Education (MOE) held an exhibition for the students of Scholarship Program for Overseas Study in Arts and Design (SPOSAD) at Building M4B of Taipei Huashan 1914 Creative Park on October 16 Wednesday. The exhibition demonstrates the achievements of 19 students, each of whom was sent for overseas study at institutes or companies in different countries like USA, UK, German, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

TaiwanICDF and Mercy Corps hand over project for earthquake recovery in Central Sulawesi Indonesia to the local communities

In response to the earthquake in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia on September 28, 2018, the International Cooperation and Development Fund (TaiwanICDF) and Mercy Corps initiated the Central Sulawesi Earthquake WASH Support Program (Indonesia). As the project came to an end, the two organizations hosted a handover ceremony of water source facilities and latrines on October 16, 2019 in Sigi Regency in Central Sulawesi.

MOFA co-produced TV show set to air in Philippines

The first episode of a TV show showcasing Taiwan’s diverse economy, society and culture is set to air during prime time on CNN Philippines Nov. 3. Co-produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and CNN Philippines, the production is part of a series themed “Embracing Taiwan” made in partnership with regional broadcasters in four New Southbound Policy target countries, with each airing two 30-minute episodes focusing on the nations’ shared traits.

ASEAN Basketball League to tip off with two teams from Taiwan

The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) will tip off this season with the participation of two teams from Taiwan, one of them being the Fubon Braves that won the national Super Basketball League (SBL) earlier this year, the ABL said Wednesday. The ABL 2019-2020 season will begin Nov. 16 with 10 teams from East and Southeast Asia competing for the title.
