On the morning of October 13, President Tsai Ing-wen met with participants in the 2023 Yushan Forum. In remarks, President Tsai thanked the participants for their keen interest in issues concerning Taiwan, and for providing valuable insights and advice at the Yushan Forum. The president noted that Taiwan will continue to do all it can to uphold regional peace and stability, and that we will participate in international affairs more actively than ever and deepen partnerships with other nations.

On the morning of October 11, President Tsai Ing-wen addressed the opening of the 2023 Yushan Forum. President Tsai said that the New Southbound Policy lies at the core of our Indo-Pacific strategy, and that we are sending a message to the world that in the face of the mounting threats of authoritarianism and climate change, as well as a global restructuring of supply chains, Taiwan is a secure and reliable partner.

President Tsai Ing-wen on the morning of October 10 attended the ROC’s 112th Double Tenth National Day Celebration in the plaza fronting the Presidential Office Building, and delivered an address titled “A calm and confident Taiwan: Moving our country forward, making the world a better place.”

On the afternoon of October 10, President Tsai Ing-wen met with former Prime Minister Scott Morrison of Australia, also a current member of parliament. In remarks, President Tsai said she looks forward to Taiwan and Australia further expanding cooperation across the board based on our existing foundation, so as to create even more business opportunities for both our countries.

President Tsai Ing-wen launched the country’s first domestically made submarine Sept. 28 in the southern city of Kaohsiung, underscoring the success of government efforts to enhance Taiwan’s defense capabilities.

On the morning of September 26, President Tsai Ing-wen met with a cross-party parliamentary delegation from Australia. In remarks, President Tsai noted that Taiwan is Australia’s fifth-largest trading partner and fourth-largest export market, and that Australia is Taiwan’s largest energy provider and a major source of agricultural goods.

On the afternoon of September 24, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the 2023 Presidential Hackathon awards ceremony, praising the award-winning teams for showing the problem-solving hackathon spirit and creating proposals for Taiwan that are both innovative and feasible.

On the evening of September 20 (morning of the same day in New York, the summit venue), President Tsai Ing-wen addressed the 2023 Concordia Annual Summit via video at the invitation of the non-profit organization Concordia.

On the morning of September 20, President Tsai Ing-wen met with the winners of the 26th Fervent Global Love of Lives awards. In remarks, President Tsai expressed hope that their stories of passion for life can be shared with even more people so as to inspire and invigorate our communities. The president also said she hopes we will uphold the spirit of Chou Ta-kuan (周大觀) and deliver courage, hope, and love to every corner of the world.

On the evening of September 19, President Tsai Ing-wen attended a reception marking the 95th anniversary of Radio Taiwan International (RTI). In remarks, President Tsai stated that RTI, founded 95 years ago, has borne witness to important moments in the Taiwanese people's struggles for freedom and democracy.
