Youth POP Make The World Rock! 2019 Global Youth Trends Forum in Taiwan— Create a New Future with the Youths from Five Continents

With a purpose to invite youths from all over the world to discuss international trends and issues, the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education holds the Global Youth Trends Forum every year. This year, the event will be held from 9 to 10 November. A total of 350 youths aged 18 to 35 from 26 countries on five continents are invited to participate in the gathering and exchanges.

The National Museum of Taiwan Literature is adding a little new romance to Taiwanese classical literature with "Nonya Life — A Special Exhibition of Early 20th-Century Taiwanese Classical Literature and Southeast Asian Travels," which will run from Sept. 27, 2019 through March 7, 2020 in Exhibition Hall C.

The Council of Agriculture (COA) notes that African swine fever (ASF) has continued to spread in European, Asian, and African countries. In the Asian region, already 10 countries have been infected since the outbreak of ASF in mainland China in August of 2018. Since the ASF epidemic struck Vietnam in February of this year, it has spread to 53 provinces, and 5.6 million pigs have been culled.

Taiwan introduces accreditation system for local hotels

The Tourism Bureau on Wednesday introduced an accreditation program for hotels in Taiwan, which it said will help travelers identify safe, sanitary and legitimately registered places of accommodation. The stamp shows two circles, with a red roof over a white bed in the black inner circle, and the words "Taiwan Stay, Tourism Bureau.MOTC" in the yellow outer circle.

Taiwan lychee varieties are sent to Australia to launch a counter-seasonal production model between the northern and southern hemispheres; Taiwan-Australia agricultural cooperation reaches a new peak

The Council of Agriculture (COA) of the Executive Yuan states that the production season for lychee in Taiwan lasts roughly from May to August of every year, while the production season in Australia, which is in the southern hemisphere, is the opposite of Taiwan’s, and lychee can be produced there from November to February.
