The Taiwan Scholarships and Huayu Enrichment Scholarships, provided by the Ministry of Education (MOE), and the Taiwan Scholarships provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), are awarded to many hundreds of international students each year, to pursue degree and language studies in Taiwan.

In 1985, the United Nations (UN) officially declared December 5th to be International Volunteers Day. This year (2019), echoing Goal 10 in the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, the "Volunteer for an inclusive future" was adopted as the theme. In response to the International Volunteer Day, the Youth Development Administration, Ministry of Education, (YDA) will hold the "Youth Volunteer, Youth Pumping" activity series from November 30 to December 3, 2019.

Up to 26 Taiwanese audiovisual productions have made their way to greater heights by being nominated for 33 categories in Singapore's Asian Academy Creative Awards, one of the most prestigious accolades for creative excellence in the Asia-Pacific region. To expand Chinese language education collaborations between Taiwan and Malaysia, and to enhance Malaysian officials’ understanding of Taiwan’s Chinese language education and vocational education, the Ministry of Education invited 19 Malaysian officials from the state of Kedah to participate in a 10-day intensive Chinese language program.

The 2019 Taiwan International Student Design Competition, now in its 12th year, is the largest-scale international student design contest in the world. It's organized by the Ministry of Education and sponsored by iSee Taiwan Foundation, the Sayling Wen Cultural & Educational Foundation, and the Industrial Technology Research Institute.

In order to implement the President's 'New Southbound Policy', the Sport Administration gives grants to the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology holding "2019 NPUST 'MONKEY CUP(阿猴盃)' New Southbound International University Futsal Invitational Tournament", specially inviting the football teams of Malaysian University of Sabah (Malaysia), Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand), HCM City National University (Vietnam) to rub shoulders with the Taiwanese Universities.
