Government eyes future cooperation with EU on gender equality and universal values

The Executive Yuan on Monday announced that Minister without Portfolio Lo Ping-cheng achieved great success in leading a delegation of central and local government representatives to Sweden, Denmark and Finland—the three highest-ranked countries in the EU’s Gender Equality Index—to engage in bilateral exchanges on the topics of gender equality and human rights from May 26 to June 3.

Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation launched

The Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation, under the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officially began operations June 1, following detailed planning and preparation, and the filing of its articles of registration.

Taiwan’s planned donation for Ebola prevention highlights contributions to international healthcare

The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has committed to donating US$1 million to the World Health Organization in response to its call for help in preventing the spread of Ebola in Africa and cooperation in public health security. Taiwan thereby demonstrates its goodwill and determination to participate in global health and disease prevention endeavors, as well as its willingness to fulfill its obligations as a responsible member of the international community.
