On the morning of August 8, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the opening of the Ketagalan Forum: 2023 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue. In remarks, President Tsai stated that maintaining the rules-based order is imperative to our region’s stability and prosperity. The president said that Taiwan has dedicated itself to being part of the democratic alliance that works to prevent authoritarian expansionism while tackling issues such as climate change, emerging diseases, and terrorism.

President Tsai Ing-wen launched the Taiwan Carbon Solution Exchange Aug. 7 in the southern city of Kaohsiung, pledging to assist local enterprises in turning the challenges of net-zero carbon emissions into business opportunities.

On the morning of July 18, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the opening ceremony of the 20th anniversary celebration for the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy (TFD). In remarks, President Tsai stated that today is not just a celebration, it is also an appropriate time for all of us to reflect on the past, present, and future of democracy.

On the morning of June 28, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the opening of the World News Media Congress 2023. In remarks, President Tsai stated that Taiwan has become home to many international media professionals, which is testament to Taiwan's efforts to safeguard media freedom and the right to free speech, and shows the world how deeply Taiwan values this important pillar of democracy.

On the morning of May 30, President Tsai Ing-wen met a delegation of members from the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI). In remarks, President Tsai said that CAPRI, the first international think tank established in Taiwan, is a boost that Taiwan very much needs right now.

At noon on May 27, President Tsai Ing-wen met with members of Taiwan’s World Health Assembly (WHA) action team, praising the team members for uniting efforts at home and abroad to convey Taiwan’s message to the world. President Tsai said that the international community’s support for Taiwan is increasing, and that a record-high 12 allies and 13 like-minded countries voiced support for Taiwan this year.

On the morning of May 20, President Tsai Ing-wen held a press conference titled “Seven years in office: redefining Taiwan, letting the world see Taiwan from a new perspective” to report back to her fellow citizens on the achievements of the last seven years. In remarks, the president said that her administration will continue to safeguard freedom and democracy and advance the well-being of our citizens, bringing happiness to the Taiwanese people and progress to the nation.

On May 15, at the invitation of the Alliance of Democracies Foundation (AoD), President Tsai Ing-wen addressed the Copenhagen Democracy Summit 2023 via video.

On the afternoon of May 12, President Tsai Ing-wen met at her official residence with a delegation led by Senator Risa Hontiveros of the Philippines. President Tsai thanked Senator Hontiveros for her longstanding support for Taiwan, and expressed hope that, based on our existing foundation, Taiwan and the Philippines can further enhance our partnership and create more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

On the morning of May 5, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the Women in Sports International Photo Awards ceremony and Sports Diplomacy: Taiwan-USA Collaboration on Building the Asia-Pacific Gender Equality in Sports Exchange Platform. In remarks, President Tsai pointed out that Taiwan and the United States share many values and that we are both working hard to make gender equality a reality.
