The 2024 Taiwan Culinary Exhibition is set to start Aug. 2-5 at Taipei World Trade Center, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.

Taiwan-Malaysia-Singapore Film ‘Snow in Midsummer’ honored at New York Asian Film Festival

Taiwan-made films “Suffocating Love (愛的噩夢),” “Trouble Girl (小曉),” and “Snow in Midsummer (五月雪)” were selected for Uncaged Award for Best Feature Film Competition at this year’s New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF). During the closing ceremony on July 28, it was unveiled that “Snow in Midsummer” had won the award.

National Jamboree Returns to Tainan City, Mayor Welcomes Scout Leaders from Home and Abroad

After 18 years, the 12th National Jamboree, Scouts of China (Taiwan) finally returns to Tsou Ma Lai Farm in Tainan. With “Working Together, Embracing the World, and Heading Towards Sustainability” as this year’s theme, the event welcomed nearly 8,000 scouts from 18 countries including Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Sri Lanka.

Jerusalem College of Engineering in Southern India will Open a Taiwan Education Center

The Education Division at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India, a representative office of Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Jerusalem College of Engineering, an autonomous engineering college in southern India, in a virtual signing ceremony held on the 23rd of May, 2024. The MOU was signed by Peters Chen, Director of the Education Division, and by Dr Ramesh S., the principal of Jerusalem College of Engineering.

On April 13, 2024, a delegation from Wenzao Ursuline University of Languages, comprising Dr. Liao Shu-hui 廖淑慧, Director of the university’s Chinese Language Center; Dr. Li Jia Hao李家豪, an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Chinese; Dr. Lin Tsui Yun林翠雲, also an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Chinese; and Chen Zhaoyu陳昭宇, a specialist at the Chinese Language Center conducted an advanced Mandarin teaching workshop in Vietnam.

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Thailand organized a Meeting and Sharing about Start-up Business Experiences of Taiwan Alumni in Thailand 2024 meeting to give alumni an opportunity to exchange insights about starting up businesses in Thailand. The meeting was held at the Evergreen Laurel Hotel in Bangkok on May 18, and attended by 65 alumni from 23 Taiwanese universities and members of the Association of Taiwan Alumni (Thailand).

Premier Cho Jung-tai cheers for Team Taiwan ahead of Cultural Olympiad

Celebrating the upcoming Paris Olympic Games and Cultural Olympiad, the Ministry of Culture (MOC) invited several noted traditional performing art groups to jointly perform the show “As You Like It (在恁佮意).” The rehearsal of the show was held on July 18, with Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) and Culture Minister Li Yuan in attendance, cheering for the team representing Taiwan in Paris.

NTMoFA signs MoU with National Gallery Singapore

On July 16, Director Chen Kuang-yi (陳貺怡) of the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) and Director Eugene Tan (陳維德) of the National Gallery Singapore signed a memorandum of understanding, formalizing a partnership between the two national art institutions to bolster art curation, management, and research in the Asian region.
