Taiwan and Guatemala Sign an Arrangement for Mutual Recognition of AEO to Facilitate Bilateral Trade

The Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) between Taiwan and Guatemala was signed on May 28, 2021. Through the Arrangement, the customs administrations of Taiwan and Guatemala are able to mutually recognize each other’s AEO programs. Exporters that are awarded AEO status from Taiwan and Guatemala can both enjoy facilitated customs clearances at their borders.

MOEA’s Industrial Development Bureau promotes Taiwan’s Cybersecurity R&D Capabilities

During 2020, Taiwan was relatively unaffected by the global pandemic. The Cyber Taiwan Pavilion was the only physical cybersecurity exhibition to take place in the Asia Pacific region. Furthermore, Taiwan’s cybersecurity industry flourished, with an 11.9 percent growth rate. This year, the Cyber Taiwan Pavilion was held on May 4-6 at Hall 2 of Taipei’s Nangang Exhibition Center.

Output of Taiwan’s IC sector forecast to rise over 18% in 2021

The production value of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry is expected to rise more than 18 percent in 2021 compared to the previous year due to strong global demand for computers and internet-related devices, according to the Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK).
