The Taiwan Film Festival in Australia 2024 introduced the “Pitching Competition – From Taiwanese Bookshelves to Screen (臺灣書櫃－臺灣出版品改編短片提案競賽)” for the first time, selecting five adaptation projects from 20 submissions across Australia. Each winning project was awarded A$5,000, with screenings planned for next year.
The Ministry of Culture (MOC), in collaboration with the Melbourne Fringe Festival, presents the 5th Fringe Focus Taiwan program to showcase dance pieces “TOMATO” and “Girl’s Notes (少女須知)” by Taiwanese choreographers Chou Kuan-jou (周寬柔) and Su Pin-wen (蘇品文), respectively.

The National Human Rights Museum (NHRM) launched the Taiwan International Human Rights Film Festival 2024 on Sept. 19. The selected films will be screened at Taipei’s Spot Huashan Cinema from Sept. 19 to 22, the Kaohsiung Film Archive from Sept. 26 to 29, and the Taichung Film Development Foundation from Sept. 30 to Oct. 5. In addition, collaborative screenings will take place from Oct. 14 to Nov. 15 across the country.
