Eslite Malaysia to host Taiwanese Literature Seminars in May and June

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, in collaboration with Eslite Bookstore, will host a series of Taiwanese Literature Seminars in May and June, inviting four renowned authors – Chu Yu-hsun (朱宥勳), Ma Yi-hang (馬翊航), Liu Ka-shiang (劉克襄), and Ma Shih-fang (馬世芳) – to Malaysia to engage and exchange with local readers.

On May 6, 2024, the Taiwan Tourism Administration officially unveiled the Taiwan Tourism Brand Version 3.0 called“TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder”. Featuring captivating wave-like designs that illustrate the seasonal highlights of travel across Taiwan, this new identity is supported by innovative brand elements including an animated short film and a promotional song for Taiwan tourism. This initiative is aimed at bolstering Taiwan’s efforts to attract a greater number of international tourists.

On January 17, 2024, a delegation comprising Mr. Chu To-Ming, Director of the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; Huang Chung-Lin, Dean of the Office of International and Cross-Strait Cooperation at Lunghwa University of Science and Technology; and Dr. Liao Hsin-Te, Vice-President of Minghsin University of Science and Technology visited Dai Nam University, in Hanoi.

Creative Australia, an arts investment and advisory body organized by the Australian Government, hosted the Asia Pacific Arts Award on Apr. 23. A total of 51 entries were received for the awards, covering five categories: Impact, Innovation, Inspire (Individuals/Collectives/Groups), Inspire (Organisations), and Connect, with the participation from Taiwan in three of these categories.

The Tea Philo (哲學茶席), a monthly event revolving around discussion of philosophies and humanities, co-organized by the Cultural Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia and INXO Arts & Culture Foundation, invited Taiwanese artist and designer Ho Chia-hsing (何佳興) to deliver a talk on Mar. 30 at the Purple Cane Tea Square in Kuala Lumpur.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Thailand presented the showcase of Taiwan’s picture books at the 2024 Bangkok International Book Fair held from Mar. 28 to Apr. 8. Taiwanese authors Li Ju-ching (李如青), Yan Kai-hsin (嚴凱信), and Tsui Li-chun (崔麗君) were invited to the event to introduce their works.
