Immigrant football competition kicks off in Taipei

A friendly immigrant football competition between eight teams comprised of migrant players was launched in Taipei on Sunday, with hundreds of people gathered at a local sports stadium for the opening ceremony and to watch the first four games.

2019 Cultural Diversity Event – Water Lantern Festival Kicks Off in Style

The annual Water Lantern Festival will kick off at the Rainbow Bridge by the Xikou Wharf at 15:00 on November 17, 2019. Besides traditional Southeast Asian water lanterns, star-shaped water lanterns are also designed this year to let visitors make a wish to the stars so that they do not have to travel abroad to experience Southeast Asian water lantern culture.

Photo exhibition highlights talent of migrant Filipino workers

The talent of overseas Filipino workers was highlighted Sunday at a free photography exhibition in Taipei depicting the lives of migrant workers. The "Turning Point: Taiwan" exhibition, being held Oct. 24-30 at Taipei's Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, is showing roughly 300 photos that chronicle the journeys of migrant workers, featuring images of their hometowns and their working environments.
