Taipei Becomes First Fair Trade City in Chinese World

At the witness of the organization’s president Tatsuya Watanabe, Mayor Ko Wen-je accepted the certificate from International Fair Trade Towns Steering Committee (IFTTSC) in a press event on December 12. This marked a milestone for Taipei, as it became the first fair trade city in the Chinese world.

Taipei Marathon races ahead with efforts to join the world’s leading city events

In mid-December every year, runners take to the streets of Taiwan’s capital for the Taipei Marathon. The race was launched more than 30 years ago as the first event of its kind in the country. Previously supported by ING Life Taiwan and now sponsored by Fubon Life, it has proven a great success, attracting a record high of about 100,000 participants in 2014.

The Taichung World Flora Exposition will be held in 2018. In the same year, 2018, Penghu will also organize “2018 The Most Beautiful Bay Carnival in Penghu, Taiwan.” On the 24th, Mayor Lin Chia-lung took “Love”, the leopard cat sister that had ever visited the offshore island for the first time, to visit Penghu, and signed the LOI (Letter of Intent) with the Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu of Penghu County, to lay a new milestone for regional cooperation.
