Taiwan’s continuing campaign to seek participation in the United Nations system has received greater international support than ever this year. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) sincerely thanks diplomatic allies, like-minded nations, and friends around the world for their firm support of Taiwan’s bid in various ways.

The arrival of a delegation from the Australian Parliament is sincerely welcomed by the government and people of Taiwan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Sept. 25.

A seminar on promoting the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals was staged by Taiwan, the U.S., Japan and Australia under the Global Cooperation and Training Framework Sept. 21 in New York City, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

United States Vice President Kamala Harris reaffirmed the importance of maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait at the 18th East Asia Summit held in Jakarta, Indonesia, on September 7. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also conveyed concern over regional security issues, including in the Taiwan Strait and the South China Sea, during a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on the sidelines of the East Asia Summit.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida of Japan reaffirmed the importance of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait at the ASEAN-Japan Summit held in Indonesia on September 6. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) warmly welcomes and appreciates Prime Minister Kishida publicly reiterating staunch support for cross-strait peace and stability after he expressed the same stance at the US-Japan-ROK summit at Camp David on August 18.
