44th APNIC conference held in Taichung for the first time – Mayor Lin hopes to build a smart city together

The 44th Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) was held in Taichung from September 7-14. Taking place in Taichung for the first time, the event attracted 485 international IT experts from 43 countries to share major trends in the future of network development.

Dr. Juli Minoves, the classmate of Lin Chia-lung, the Mayor of Taichung City in the Ph.D. program at Yale, is currently the president of Liberal International. He arrived in Taichung earlier to visit Mayor Lin. In addition to the reunion with an old friend, they also discussed widely on the plan of constructing Taichung into an international non-governmental organization (INGO) center.

Promoting Flora Expo Tourism, Taichung City Tourism Bureau head north and south to promote tourism

Taichung City will hold the 2018 International Taichung Flora Exposition, The City Tourism Bureau and the National Tourism Quality Assurance Association held two promotional events in Taipei and Kaohsiung, to introduce central Taiwan tourism products and to seek cooperation. Furthermore, the tourism bureau also hopes to sign a MOU between central Taiwan and southern Taiwan tourism alliance, to promote a “enter south, exit central and also enter central, exit south” model.
