Indigenous Taiwanese film “Gaga (哈勇家),” directed by Golden Horse-winning Atayal filmmaker Laha Mebow (陳潔瑤), will be screened at the Sydney Film Festival, the most renowned movie event in the Southern Hemisphere. From June 7 to 18, the festival will showcase over 200 films from 67 countries, with “Gaga” being featured as part of the “First Nations” category. This marks the first-ever Taiwanese indigenous film to be selected for the festival since its inception in 1954.

The members of the Ministry of Culture’s Southeast Asia Advisory Committee (SEAAC) gathered at the National Taiwan Museum on May 30 for the first time after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
