President Tsai Ing-wen attended the release of the Talent Circulation Alliance's white paper on the morning of June 12, where she stressed that the government is committed to cultivating more Taiwanese talent with bilingual capabilities and digital skills.

Vice President Lai Ching-te paid a visit June 9 to the R&D center of Makalot Industrial Co., a major producer of personal protective equipment, in southern Taiwan’s Chiayi County, highlighting contributions by the private sector during the coronavirus pandemic.

While meeting with British Office Taipei Representative Catherine Nettleton on the morning of June 5, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, exchanges between Taiwan and the United Kingdom not only help global efforts to end the pandemic, but also spur the development of our nations’ biomedical industries.

On the morning of May 20, ROC 15th-term President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Lai Ching-te attended inaugural celebrations at the Taipei Guest House. President Tsai also delivered her inaugural address.

On the morning of May 19, President Tsai Ing-wen visited the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control to inspect the Central Epidemic Command Center, and personally invite representatives of front line personnel in the fight against COVID-19 to attend her inauguration ceremony on May 20.

At 9 AM on May 7 PST (12 AM on May 8 Taipei time), Vice President Chen Chien-jen delivered a speech entitled Taiwan and the COVID-19 Pandemic: Lessons for the World at a videoconference hosted by the Hoover Institution at Stanford University.

In a videoconference interview for the France 24 program 1'Entretien on the afternoon of May 8, Vice President Chen Chien-jen shared Taiwan's experience fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and answered questions about Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Organization and whether there will be a second wave of the virus.

Speaking from the Presidential Office yesterday evening, Vice President Chen Chien-jen participated in a videoconference at the invitation of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, joined by Bloomberg School Dean Ellen J. MacKenzie and American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Taipei Office Director Brent Christensen.

Responding to an invitation from TIME magazine, President Tsai Ing-wen penned an article entitled “Taiwan: How My Country Prevented a Major Outbreak of COVID-19” to share Taiwan’s success in preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with the international community.
