Responding to an invitation from TIME magazine, President Tsai Ing-wen penned an article entitled “Taiwan: How My Country Prevented a Major Outbreak of COVID-19” to share Taiwan’s success in preventing the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with the international community.

Vice President Chen Chien-jen was recently interviewed by The New York Times and responded to questions regarding issues such as Taiwan’s efforts to fight the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), international cooperation to fight the pandemic, and Taiwan’s participation in the World Health Organization (WHO). The New York Times published segments of the interview on April 22.

Vice President Chen Chien-jen was recently interviewed by The Daily Telegraph, and responded to questions regarding issues such as Taiwan’s experiences in fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, disease prevention strategies, the impact of Taiwan’s exclusion from the World Health Organization (WHO), and international cooperation to fight the pandemic.

In a videoconference interview for the BBC “Newsday” program on the morning of April 8, Vice President Chen Chien-jen shared Taiwan's experience fighting the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and answered questions about international cooperation to fight the pandemic.

President Tsai Ing-wen attended a videoconference with 19 graduating students from the Minerva Schools at KGI (Keck Graduate Institute) on the morning of April 6. She shared Taiwan’s experiences in fighting the COVID-19 outbreak and encouraged students to face and take on challenges in this changing world.

On the morning of April 1, President Tsai Ing-wen, accompanied by Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌), Minister of Health and Welfare Chen Shih-chung (陳時中), Minister of Economic Affairs Shen Jong-Chin (沈榮津), and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu (吳釗燮), delivered remarks in the Entrance Hall of the Presidential Office Building.

The Office of the President expressed gratitude after US President Donald Trump signed the "Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act of 2019" into law on March 26 (US Eastern Daylight Time).

On the afternoon of March 19, President Tsai Ing-wen, accompanied by Vice President Chen Chien-jen, issued remarks in the Entrance Hall of the Presidential Office Building regarding the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

To address the economic impact of the global novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, President Tsai Ing-wen convened a high-level national security meeting at noon on March 12 attended by the premier, vice premier, heads of relevant cabinet agencies, the National Security Council (NSC) secretary-general, and a number of NSC advisors.

While meeting with AIT Chairman James Moriarty on the morning of March 5, President Tsai Ing-wen thanked the US House of Representatives for passing the Taiwan Allies International Protection and Enhancement Initiative (TAIPEI) Act with 415 votes in favor and zero opposed, taking concrete action to support Taiwan's efforts to secure our diplomatic relations, participate in international organizations, and enhance Taiwan-US trade relations.
