President Tsai Ing-wen attended a reception for the 198th anniversary of the independence of Central America on the evening of September 17. She stated that China has used a variety of means to suppress our international space, but Taiwan's sincerity towards our friends remains unchanged, as does our position regarding maintaining the peaceful and prosperous status quo in the Asia-Pacific region.

President Tsai Ing-wen attended the International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare on the evening of September 18. She stated that Taiwan is more than willing to share our experiences with the rest of the world regarding our National Health Insurance, hospital accreditation system, patient safety reporting network, and community-based Long-term Care 2.0 Plan.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with participants in the 9th advanced Spanish international training course for diplomats on the morning of September 16. She stated that Taiwan is a responsible member of the international community, and we are willing to more actively participate in international affairs.

The president expressed hope that the Indo-Pacific Democratic Governance Consultations will serve as a platform for regular exchanges and coordination between Taiwan and the United States, allowing us to share our experiences and successes in democratic governance with regional partners, and help foster good governance in the Indo-Pacific.

While attending the 2019 International Forum on Police Cooperation: Combating Transnational Drug Crimes on the morning of September 4, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that in the future, we will continue to sign agreements on mutual judicial assistance, police cooperation, and joint crime-fighting with countries around the world.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with a delegation from the University of Tokyo's cross-strait relations research group led by Professor Yasuhiro Matsuda on the morning of September 3. President Tsai Ing-wen addressed the 101st American Legion National Convention held in Indianapolis via a recorded video message Aug. 28, pledging to continue working with the U.S. and other like-minded partners in defending freedom and democracy.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with a delegation led by Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant on the morning of August 27. She stated that in addition to the longstanding friendship between Taiwan and Mississippi, we share close commercial ties. The president also looked forward to further strengthening our commercial ties, as well as cultural and educational exchanges.

At her meeting with foreign participants from the 2019 Ketagalan Forum Asia-Pacific Security Dialogue on the morning of August 21, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that Taiwan has avoided provoking China, but we will resolutely safeguard our national sovereignty and people's rights. Taiwan is willing and able to strengthen our cooperation with Indo-Pacific countries, to make more contributions to regional peace and stability.
