An Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation consultation on food loss and waste reduction wrapped up July 26 in Taipei City, spotlighting Taiwan’s commitment to promoting food security, combating climate change and advancing sustainable development.

At a seminar held in Manila Thursday, Hsu said the US-China trade war has cut into Taiwan’s GDP as well as its exports to China and ASEAN member countries. As a result, Taiwanese businesses based in China have either begun moving back to Taiwan or making investments in Southeast Asian countries.
