President Tsai Ing-wen met with Mr. Hiroyasu Izumi, the new Chief Representative of the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Taipei Office on the afternoon of November 14. The president stated that cooperation and trade exchanges between Taiwan and Japan have become increasingly close over the past three years; Taiwan is currently Japan's fourth largest trading partner, and Japan is Taiwan’s third largest.

While attending the inauguration ceremony of the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm on the morning of November 12 in Miaoli County, President Tsai Ing-wen praised wind farm for beginning commercial operations, which shows that from planning to completion, Taiwan is a wind power pioneer in Asia.

While meeting with a delegation from National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) on the morning of November 11, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that Taiwan is the first line of defense protecting democratic values, and we will continue to strengthen cooperation with the US, and other like-minded countries to protect our democratic values and way of life.

The government will keep supporting local youth talents in expanding exchanges and sharing ideas with peers from New Southbound Policy target countries as part of efforts to deepen Taiwan’s ties with the region, according to Vice President Chen Chien-jen Nov. 9.

During a meeting with American Medical Association (AMA) President Dr. Patrice Harris on the morning of November 8, President Tsai Ing-wen thanked the AMA for strongly supporting Taiwan's WHO participation and inclusion in the International Health Regulations (IHR) network.

According to our government's 2019 Gender at a Glance in Taiwan report, Taiwan ranked highest in gender equality in Asia using the United Nations Development Programme's Gender Inequality Index standards. In the World Bank's 2019 Women, Business, and the Law report, Taiwan also topped the list in Asia.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with Taiwan’s delegates to the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Acer Chairman Jason Chen (陳俊聖), Taiwan Mobile President Jamie Lin (林之晨), and Quanta Computer CTO Ted Chang (張嘉淵), as well as Chairman Chen's ABAC deputy delegate to ABAC, PELL Biomedical Technology Limited founder Prof. Steve Chen-Lung Lin (林成龍), on the morning of November 4 at her official residence.

While meeting with Dr. Richard Bush, Brookings Institution Chen-Fu and Cecilia Yen Koo Chair in Taiwan Studies, on the morning of October 31, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that we regret that the Chilean government has announced the cancelation of the APEC Summit.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with a delegation led by European Parliament-Taiwan Friendship Group Chair Michael Gahler on the afternoon of October 29. She thanked Chair Gahler for leading the Chairs of the French, British, and German Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Groups to establish the inter-parliamentary Formosa Club, and for holding a reception on October 16 at the European Parliament to celebrate its establishment.

President Tsai Ing-wen attended a dinner banquet for the Taiwan Swinging Skirts LPGA on the evening of October 28. With the government and the sports and business communities joining forces in support of international tournaments and the Golf Association of the Republic of China's six-year plan, Taiwan will continue to shine in the international golf scene, she said.
