An exhibition on one of Taiwan’s most revered deities—Mazu, goddess of the sea—is set to open Aug. 9 in Taipei City as part of government efforts promoting greater awareness of local cultural and religious traditions linking ethnic Chinese communities throughout Southeast Asia.

A group of representatives from Bollywood and cinema industry in South India are visiting Taipei for exchanges in tourism and film industry. The trip is a result of efforts by Mayor Ko Wen-je, who visited India in April seeking to boost bilateral ties in film and TV industry by offering incentives in the form of subsidies.
Known as the Olympics of the ICT industry, the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT 2017) will be held on September 10-13 at the Taipei International Convention Center (TICC). Furthermore, 16 parallel events and an exhibition on future technology will also take place at Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), Exhibition Hall 1.

The torch relay is now following a LOVE shaped route as it links 22 counties and cities across Taiwan. After the completion of the L and O parts of the route, the V shaped part of the relay began. Starting in Taitung County, it moved to Pingtung County, Kaohsiung City and then Chiayi County. Now the fifth and the latest stop being Yunlin County.
The gold, silver and bronze medals as well as associated presentation materials for the upcoming 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade, the largest sporting event ever staged in Taiwan, were unveiled July 31 in Taipei City.
On July 28th, the fourth leg of the V part of the relay, Chiayi County, was held. Although the relay route from the county government building to the Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum was only three kilometers long, but it was not an easy task. The museum only came into existence after a long and arduous process lasting 11 years, and then finally, officially opened in 2015. It is a national level museum, which is being positioned as an “Asian art and culture museum.”
