Government allocates NT$4 billion special budget to fund large-scale COVID-19 vaccination plan, allowing public to get free vaccinations at contracted healthcare facilities starting June 7

On June 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC)announced that it has allocated an approximately NT$4 billion budget and that, starting June 7, 2021, it will use the budget as an incentive for contracted healthcare facilities that offer free vaccinations to members of the public, in order to promote the large-scale COVID-19 vaccination program.

MOFA expresses heartfelt gratitude to Japan for providing vaccine doses in a joint effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic

Following intensive bilateral negotiations, Japan agreed to provide Taiwan with 1.24 million doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to jointly combat the pandemic. The vaccine doses are scheduled to arrive in Taiwan in the afternoon of June 4. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) expresses heartfelt appreciation for Japan’s timely assistance.

Premier urges unified effort to overcome COVID challenge and quash virus

After a briefing on Thursday from the Ministry of Health and Welfare on the current status of and response to the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19, Premier Su Tseng-chang directed relevant ministries and agencies to continue working on such tasks as preventing the spread of the virus, acquiring and administering vaccines, and curbing disinformation.
