The president was grateful to the Congress members for their long-term efforts to enhance the relationship between Taiwan and the United States, as well as strong support for Taiwan's security.

The Presidential Office welcomed news that on July 8 (US Eastern Standard Time), the US Congress was notified that the US government has approved a new arms sale package for Taiwan.

Taipei, July 8 (CNA) Vice President Chen Chien-jen (陳建仁) on Monday called the United States an important ally of Taiwan, and he hoped the relationship between the two countries could continue to grow and get stronger.

While meeting with a Taiwan-US Policy Program delegation from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on the morning of June 25, President Tsai Ing-wen stated that Taiwan not only protects our own free and democratic way of life, but is also willing to share our experience with the international community.
