Taiwan seeks to revive cruise market through Asian island-hopping tours

Taiwan is working with international partners on a proposal for pan-Asian island-hopping cruise itineraries to help revive the post-pandemic travel market, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) said Tuesday.

TFDA hosts “2022 APEC Online Communication Platform for Testing Techniques for Food- Pesticide Residue Workshop”

For the sake of public safety on food, the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration of Ministry of Health and Welfare (TFDA) hosts “2022 APEC Online Communication Platform for Testing Techniques for Food- Pesticide Residue Workshop” virtually on September 13th. The TFDA has invited officials and experts from five countries such as Canada, Peru, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam to be speakers in this workshop.

Taiwan’s VR film snatches top prize at Venice film festival

The virtual reality film “The Man Who Couldn’t Leave (無法離開的人)” by director Singing Chen (陳芯宜) won the Venice Immerse Best Experience in the Venice Immersive Competition section at the 79th Venice International Film Festival on Sep. 10. The VR film tells a story about people who stood their ground and fought against the political repression in Taiwan in the 1950s.

55 Malaysian Students Awarded MOE Scholarships to Study in Taiwan

A total of 55 Malaysian students were awarded Taiwan Ministry of Education scholarships this year to undertake an academic degree program or a short-term Mandarin course in Taiwan. The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia held a Ministry of Education Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship award ceremony and pre-departure orientation for the recipients at Ibis Kuala Lumpur City Centre on July 25, 2022.
