Taiwan to hold IAPCO general assembly in 2025

Taipei City will hold the annual general assembly of the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers in February 2025, the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs said Feb. 10.

Taiwanese curators to join curatorial exchange program in Chicago

Independent curator Huang Yu-wen (黃又文) and Hsieh Yu-ting Hsieh (謝宇婷) from the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (KMFA) have been selected to participate in the four-day “EXPO CHICAGO-2023 Curatorial Exchange” program, the first collaboration between Taipei Cultural Center in New York and EXPO CHICAGO, from April 11 to 15 in Chicago.

Selected works featured in the 23rd Biennale of Sydney will now travel to the collaborating institutions to create a series of unique exhibitions focusing on the local context and resonating with a global conversation. Paiwan artist Aluaiy Kaumaka’s textile sculpture “Semasipu - Remembering Our Intimacies” will be on display at the Adelaide Contemporary Experimental (ACE Gallery) from February 4 to March 18.

Taiwanese opera group Ming Hwa Yuan invited to perform in India

Ming Hwa Yuan Arts and Cultural Group, one of the most representative theater troupes in Taiwan, has been invited to perform at the International Theatre Festival of Kerala (ITFoK) which will take place in India from February 5 to 14. The festival resumes after three years of suspension due to the pandemic. This year, performing arts groups from South Africa, Italy, France, Lebanon, Palestine, the United Kingdom, Denmark, and Taiwan will also be taking part in the festival.

Taiwanese and Thai designers to join Bangkok Design Week 2023

Thailand’s annual art and cultural event, Bangkok Design Week (BKKDW), will kick off on Feb. 4, under the theme “Co with Creation.” At the invitation of the Ministry of Culture (MOC), seven artworks sharing the observations and ideas of Taiwanese and Thai designers will be displayed; while the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA) will be showcasing works related to the concept of circular design.
