To implement the “New Southbound Policy” which aims to enhance cooperation between Taiwan and its neighboring countries, the Ministry of Education (MOE) of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the International Development and Cooperation Fund (Taiwan ICDF) have once again selected outstanding Filipino students as scholarship recipients to study in Taiwan.

Director General William Fan on 18 July met with QUT professor Sophie McIntyre, First Nation artists from Taiwan and Australia, researcher from Taiwan’s National Museum of Prehistory.

A total of 60 Malaysians have been awarded the MOE Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) this year, including 37 to pursue academic degrees and 23 to study short-term Mandarin courses in Taiwan. In her remarks, Representative Phoebe Yeh expressed congratulations to the Scholarships awardees and encouraged them to take this opportunity to expand their knowledge and broaden their horizons when studying in Taiwan.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau and Taiwan Visitors Association led a delegation to participate in the 10th Travel Madness Expo (TME) from 30 June to 2 July 2023. Two Taiwan Tourism Workshops were held, with one in Clark on 28 June, and the other in Manila on 30 June.

Representative Phoebe Yeh attended the opening ceremony of 2023 Taiwan Higher Education Fair Kota Kinabalu. This year the Fair takes place in Kota Kinabalu, Sibu, Batu Pahat, Kuala Lumpur and Penang from March 27 to April 12, with 78 Taiwan universities participating.
