On the morning of November 20, President Tsai Ing-wen met with a delegation from the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a US think tank. She explained that democratic Taiwan is currently on the front lines in the fight against disinformation. She also expressed hope that Taiwan and other like-minded countries will strengthen cooperation at this critical time to protect our common values of freedom, democracy, human rights, and rule of law.

President Tsai Ing-wen said Nov. 13 that the government is committed to boosting Taiwan’s research capabilities and enhancing international scientific exchanges so as to strengthen global development and well-being.

On the morning of November 13, President Tsai Ing-wen met with a delegation of participants in the International Scientific Leaders' Forum held in conjunction with Academia Sinica's 90th Anniversary. During the meeting, the president explained that Taiwan has extensive research capabilities, and is an important global talent pool. She also expressed hope that Taiwan will make even greater contributions to issues of global concern, scientific development, and the wellbeing of humankind.

On the morning of November 12, President Tsai Ing-wen met with the Taiwan delegation that will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Week activities. She emphasized that Taiwan is a major link in the global digital economy supply chain, and can also contribute much to innovative governance and promoting inclusive growth. She also expressed hope that the delegation will complete its mission and highlight Taiwan's importance in the digital economy.

On the afternoon of November 12, 2018, President Tsai Ing-wen welcomed Palau President Tommy E. Remengesau and Mrs. Remengesau with full military honors. President Tsai thanked Palau for speaking up on behalf of Taiwan's participation in the international community for many years, and said she looks forward to continued cooperation with the Republic of Palau on issues including climate change, marine resources, and clean energy.

On the afternoon of November 12, President Tsai Ing-wen attended the International Scientific Leaders' Forum, marking Academia Sinica's 90th Anniversary. She said she looks forward to Taiwan working together with preeminent scientists and experts from around the world to forge deeper ties of knowledge, start more joint programs of research, advance scientific development, and benefit all our societies.

On the morning of November 12, the Office of the President held a pre-departure press conference for the Taiwan delegation to the 26th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Week events. Leader's Representative Morris Chang (張忠謀) gave a preview of remarks he will deliver as the president's representative at the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting on November 18 in Papua New Guinea. He then took questions from the media.

Video of President Tsai Ing-wen's interview with Worldwide Association of Women Journalists and Writers (AMMPE) former President Julia Eugenia Martinez, now head of the AMMPE Chile branch, was broadcast during a reception at the organization's annual meeting on November 7 in London (early morning on November 8 Taipei time). President Tsai responded to questions about issues including women's participation in public affairs, and her personal life and career.

During a meeting with a visiting delegation of British parliamentarians on the morning of November 5, President Tsai Ing-wen remarked that substantive relations between Taiwan and the United Kingdom have flourished. She hopes that the two countries can further upgrade economic and trade ties, and form an outstanding partnership that connects European and Asian markets.
