President Tsai Ing-wen said Sept. 10 that the government will continue supporting Taiwan’s small and medium enterprises so they can remain competitive and overcome new challenges going forward.
President Tsai Ing-wen said Sept. 7 that the government is assisting Taiwan’s agricultural sector boost exports, create value-added jobs and implement structural reforms aimed at raising its competiveness in the global marketplace.
On the morning of September 6, President Tsai Ing-wen met with directors and supervisors from SEMI and the Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA), as well as other top executives of semiconductor makers from home and abroad. The president stated that the Taiwan government will continue supporting semiconductor industry development, and turn Taiwan into the most attractive investment destination in the world.

President Tsai stated that the Taiwan government will continue its efforts to participate in regional economic integration initiatives like the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). She also expressed hope for stronger cooperation between Taiwan and the CACCI

On the afternoon of August 30, President Tsai Ing-wen met with US Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and keynote speakers participating in the 2018 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue: Promoting a Free & Open Indo-Pacific Region. The president emphasized that Taiwan will continue to cooperate with the United States and other like-minded countries to promote regional peace, stability, and development.
