On the morning of September 4, President Tsai Ing-wen met with President Jemal Inaishvili and Vice President Samir Modi of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI). President Tsai stated that the Taiwan government will continue its efforts to participate in regional economic integration initiatives like the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP). She also expressed hope for stronger cooperation between Taiwan and the CACCI

President Tsai Ing-wen said Aug. 30 that Taiwan will continue promoting peace, stability and prosperity while working with like-minded countries in pursuing a free and open Indo-Pacific.

On the afternoon of August 30, President Tsai Ing-wen met with US Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and keynote speakers participating in the 2018 Indo-Pacific Security Dialogue: Promoting a Free & Open Indo-Pacific Region. The president emphasized that Taiwan will continue to cooperate with the United States and other like-minded countries to promote regional peace, stability, and development.

President Tsai Ing-wen said Aug. 24 that expanding defense exchanges between Taiwan and the U.S. is key to further developing the country’s indigenous military programs.

President Tsai Ing-wen said Aug. 20 that her state visit to Paraguay and Belize was a success and underscores the government’s commitment to broadening Taiwan’s engagement with the world.

President Tsai Ing-wen departed Aug. 19 from Houston for Taiwan following an overnight stopover in the U.S. city as part of her nine-day state visit to allies Paraguay and Belize.
