President Tsai Ing-wen said April 19 that Taiwan-Swaziland relations are going from strength to strength and the government will continue supporting the diplomatic ally’s development through expanded cooperation projects across a broad spectrum of areas.

President Tsai Ing-wen launched a Taiwan-backed scholarship program while visiting Swaziland College of Technology April 18 in Mbabane, underscoring the government’s commitment to cultivating the next generation of talents in the diplomatic ally.

President Tsai Ing-wen and King Mswati III of Swaziland signed a joint communique April 17 in the diplomatic ally’s capital Mbabane, pledging to advance exchanges and mutual cooperation for the benefit of both countries.

On the morning of April 17, President Tsai Ing-wen departed on a state visit to the Kingdom of Swaziland, one of Taiwan's diplomatic allies in Africa. The theme of this trip is "Taiwan and Swaziland: Enduring Partners." In remarks before boarding the plane, the president explained the key objectives of this visit.

President Tsai Ing-wen said April 16 that the stable development of Taiwan-U.S. relations is indispensable to safeguarding a free and open Indo-Pacific.

President Tsai Ing-wen said April 9 that Taiwan and the U.K. share a deep and abiding friendship, adding that she looks forward to more frequent and comprehensive exchanges aimed at further boosting mutually beneficial cooperation.

President Tsai Ing-wen met with Mr. Graham Stuart, the UK's Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the Department for International Trade on the morning of April 9. At the meeting, she expressed hope for more frequent and comprehensive exchanges to increase opportunities for cooperation and strengthen the bilateral partnership.

President Tsai Ing-wen awarded April 2 U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen the Order of Propitious Clouds with Special Grand Cordon for her significant contributions to strengthening Taiwan-U.S. relations.

On the morning of March 29, President Tsai Ing-wen met with a visiting delegation led by Ms. Nam In-Soon, Chairperson of the Korean National Assembly's Gender Equality and Family Committee. The president said that through international cooperation, gender concepts can be brought to bear in all fields, and expressed hope that Taiwan and Korea can create more opportunities for exchanges and cooperation.

President Tsai Ing-wen said talks are the best way to resolve economic disputes and it is hoped the U.S. will pursue negotiations in an effort to head off an all-out trade war with mainland China.
