An online ceremony for food and agricultural education cooperation between Mitagri Co., Ltd. and Chinese Taipei School Kuala Lumpur was launched on October 31st, 2022, to promote the food and agricultural education program overseas.

Following the establishment of the partnership with the University of Belize, National Chung Hsing University (NCHU) has made further progress in its international expansion by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to a partnership agreement with Western Sydney University (WSU) on October 25, 2022, opening up more possibilities for future exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.

On 6th October, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai, Taiwan’s overseas mission in southern India, hosted a dinner reception at Taj Coromandel celebrating Taiwan’s 111th National Day. In his opening remarks, Director-General Ben Wang recounted the recent development of Taiwan-India relations anticipating ever closer bilateral cooperations to achieve the greatest potential in economic growth for both sides.

To reinforce the talent exchange between Malaysia and Taiwan, The Federation of Alumni Association of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia and National Development Council, Taiwan co-hosted a seminar for talent recruitment and Employment Gold Card on September 8th, during which both sides signed an MOU on talent recruitment to facilitate talent exchange, witnessed by Representative Anne Hung of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia.

The opening ceremony of 2022 Taiwan Higher Education Fair, organized by the Federation of Alumni Associations of Taiwan Universities, Malaysia (FAATUM), was held on August 19, 2022 at World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.

On 11 August 2022, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines held a send-off lunch for the first batch of English teachers and teaching assistants of the Taiwan Foreign English Teacher Program (TFETP) at the New World Makati Hotel. Representative Peiyung Hsu personally congratulated the 14 English teachers and 3 teaching assistants who were present and wished them an enjoyable and memorable teaching experience in Taiwan.

The Taiwanese Halal Food & Plant-based Meat Cooking Contest was held for the first time ever during the Taiwan Expo 2022 in Malaysia in an effort to promote Taiwan’s halal ingredients here. The event was organized by the Taiwan Halal Center and the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Taiwan.

Taiwan-The University of Sydney Scholarship is co-funded by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) (MOE) and the University of Sydney. Up to five PhD scholarships is available each year. Five Taiwanese recipients awarded this scholarship in 2022.

A retired couple in Taiwan, who did not want to be named, has since 2019 funded the construction of school buildings in Myanmar through the Chit Myit Tar Foundation (CMT Foundation), a charitable organization in Myanmar.
