Vietnamese child with liver disease recovers after surgery in Taiwan

A 10-month-old Vietnamese child diagnosed with a life-threatening liver disease at birth has recovered following a liver transplant carried out at Taipei Veterans General Hospital (TVGH), the hospital said in a statement Tuesday.

The documentary is produced by the Svemirko Film Productions, which is a company co-founded by Venice Atienza from the Philippines and Fan Wu from Taiwan. The documentary is competing at the 71st Berlinale-Berlin International Film Festival Generation Section.

The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City has been conducting the Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) tests for many years as part of its work promoting Mandarin learning and evaluation in Vietnam, South of Da Nang. The tests are held in various cities, including Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, Can Tho, and Dong Thap, and more than 2,000 applicants each year apply to sit for the tests.
