CORONAVIRUS/Taiwan could receive COVID-19 vaccine in February at the earliest

Taiwan and other countries that are not United Nations members will be allotted 1.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine in the first round of vaccine distribution by the global vaccine-sharing initiative COVAX, with the earliest delivery date being February, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Thursday.

Democracy Index ranks Taiwan top in Asia, 11th globally

Taiwan has jumped 20 places in the 2020 Democracy Index rankings to 11th position globally from 31st in 2019, to rank top in Asia, according to the index report released Tuesday by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Thai Nguyen University - Lao Cai Campus is located close to the border between Vietnam and Yunnan province in China, making it the northernmost university in Vietnam. Indigenous people comprise 65% of the population of Lao Cai province, so a major responsibility of the university is to provide education and training for them.
