The 41st Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) commenced in Montreal, Canada, on September 27. On the Assembly’s opening day, Chinese delegate Cui Xiaofeng, Deputy Administrator of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, repeated the so-called “one China principle,” falsely claimed that China’s “peaceful unification” mission has the widespread support of ICAO’s contracting states, and challenged Taiwan’s right to participate. Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 24, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi made false claims regarding Taiwan’s sovereignty, willfully misrepresenting UNGA Resolution 2758 and connecting it to the so-called “one China principle” in an attempt to create the illusion that Taiwan is subordinate to the People’s Republic of China and excuse China’s recent provocative behavior toward Taiwan.

MOFA to fully reinstate visa-exempt treatment for nationals of eligible countries starting September 29 in accordance with adjustments to CECC antipandemic border control measures

Following an announcement by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), visa-exempt entry scheme to Taiwan will be fully reinstated from September 29 for nationals of eligible countries to engage in activities that do not require a permit, such as business, exhibition visits, fact-finding missions, international exchanges, visiting relatives, tourism, and social events.
