President Lai Ching-te on the morning of October 10 attended the ROC’s 114th Double Tenth National Day Celebration in the plaza fronting the Presidential Office Building, and delivered an address titled “A New Taiwan Rises in a Time of Change.”

On the morning of October 10 at the Presidential Office Building, President Lai Ching-te and the First Lady, accompanied by Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao, received congratulations from members of the foreign diplomatic corps and foreign organizations stationed in Taiwan, as well as guests from around the world attending the 2025 National Day Celebration of the Republic of China.

On the morning of October 9, President Lai Ching-te met with participants in the 2025 Taipei Security Dialogue. President Lai Ching-te addressed the 2025 Concordia Annual Summit via video at the invitation of the New York-based non-profit organization Concordia, delivering a speech titled “Better Together for a Safer World – Taiwan’s Role in the Age of Uncertainty.”

Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim said that Taiwan is committed to deepening cooperation with Canada in the fields of security and technology while strengthening partnerships to safeguard regional peace and stability.

On the morning of September 20, President Lai Ching-te attended the opening of the Resilient Taiwan for Sustainable Democracy International Forum. In remarks, President Lai stated that as Taiwan and a host of other countries worldwide face the two major challenges posed by extreme climate and authoritarian systems, we must take action and step up our preparedness.

On the afternoon of September 16, President Lai Ching-te met with Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association Chairman Sumi Shuzo. In remarks, President Lai expressed confidence that Taiwan-Japan relations will flourish even more under the leadership of Chairman Sumi, with his extensive experience and foresight. The president also expressed hoped that Taiwan and Japan will continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation and contribute even more to peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.

President Lai Ching-te said Sept. 10 that the government is committed to strengthening cooperation between the public and private sectors to build a more secure, stable and sustainable future for Taiwan.

On the afternoon of September 2, President Lai Ching-te met with a delegation from the University of Tokyo’s cross-strait relations research group. The president thanked the delegation for its long-time attention to the situation in the Taiwan Strait and peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. He also expressed hope for further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Taiwan and Japan through exchanges.
