In an effort to expand the Malaysian and Muslim travel markets, Commissioner Liu Yi-ting of the Department of Information and Tourism and Taipei City Government Deputy Spokesperson Huang Ching-yin (also known as “Xue Jie”) experienced Yue Lao’s (Matchmaking God) red yarn knitting – symbolizing the bringing together of couples through matchmaking – with emerging Malaysian actress Elvina Mohamad and Internet sensation Stephy at the Fleisch Tea House in Dadaocheng today (August 3).

The Asia Discovers Asia Meeting for Contemporary Performance (ADAM) is organized by the Taipei Performing Arts Center (TPAC). At its core is the encouragement of creativity through cross-national artist collaborations. ADAM is currently entering its third year. Its Annual Meeting will take place August 15 to 18 at the Dadaocheng Theater and include Artist Lab, Kitchen and Assembly events.

Taiwan Expo 2019 in Malaysia concluded successfully in Penang on July 6. This was the second consecutive year that Taipei City Government has participated in Malaysia exhibitions. 2019 Asia Pacific Cities Summit and Mayors' Forum will place in Brisbane, Australia from July 7 to 10, and Taichung City Deputy Mayor Bruce Linghu has been invited to participate in the event on behalf of Mayor Shiow-yen Lu, where he met with representatives from Taichung's sister city Auckland (New Zealand), Uvs Province (Mongolia), Government of Queensland, Busan (South Korea), and Ichikawa City (Chiba Prefecture, Japan) to discuss collaborations between cities.

Taipei City Assists Businesses to Take Up Demographic Dividend Opportunity in Malaysia and Break Into Penang!

The Taipei City Government will exhibit in the Taiwan Expo in Malaysia as “Taipei Your Partner Pavilion” for the second year this year (2019) in order to develop the Malaysian market. The exhibition will open at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre on 5th July for two days, where 16 businesses from Taipei City have been invited by the City Government to take part.

To promote Taipei’s exceptional MICE attributes and to support the government’s New Southbound Policy, the Department of Information and Tourism (TPEDOIT) once again participated in the Bureau of Foreign Trade of MOEA’s Taiwan’s MICE Promotion Program (Meet Taiwan) promotion delegation this year, visiting 3 countries including Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines to organize promotional campaigns and briefings.
