As a token of appreciation for their service as culture ambassadors of Taiwan culture, Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang hosted the 23-member delegation led by Professor Man-li Wu, Head of Hwa Kang Dance Troupe of the Chinese Culture University to a dinner on 25 January 2017.  During the dinner, Representative Liang urged the performers at the 2017 River Hongbao Festival to seize this opportunity to broaden their horizons and experience Singapore's multicultural diversity.

Now into its 31st year, the River Hongbao Festival is an annual iconic event showcasing Chinese culture and tradition and has remained an integral part of Singapore’s Lunar New Year celebrations.  The Festival was opened by Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, at the Marina Bay Floating Platform on the 26 January 2017.  The Hwa Kang Dance Troupe of the Chinese Culture University, with its refreshing dance style, is once again among the highlights for the opening night, which included shows specially selected from both local and overseas performers. This year's River Hongbao will end on February 4 and is expected to attract a million visitors.
