Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang Attends Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan’s Lunar New Year Gathering 2018

Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang attended the Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan’s Lunar New Year Gathering 2018 on 17 February 2018 at the invitation of the association’s President, Mr. Chua Kee Seng, and its two Vice Presidents, Mr. Tan Tock Han and Mr. Teo Siong Seng.  Also present at the gathering were Deputy Representative Steven Tai,  Mr. Heman Chen, Coordinator of the Overseas Community Affairs Council, and other officials of the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.

In his address, Representative Liang conveyed his best wishes for the Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan and extended his Lunar New Year greetings to everyone.  He expressed his wishes for the association to continue to prosper and thrive in Singapore, and for closer cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and Singapore in the areas of economy, education, culture and tourism.

Mr. Chua Kee Seng, President of the Singapore Kim Mui Hoey Kuan, was happy to note that Singapore’s economy grew by 3.6% in 2017, outpacing the growth of the preceding two years. He urged his association members to continue their good work as Singapore marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of modern Singapore next year.

Furthermore, in conjunction with the Lunar New Year celebrations, Taiwan was invited to participate in Singapore’s River Hongbao Festival 2018.  Dancers from the Department of Dance, National Taiwan University of Sport performed at the gathering as well and their performances were greeted by cheers from the crowds.
