Representative Francis Kuo-Hsin Liang graced the opening ceremony of the 18th Singapore Lion City Cup International Woodball Open Championship 2018 on 4 August 2018, at the invitation of Dr Chong Tien Siong, President of the Singapore Woodball Association.  Also present at the opening were office bearers from the Overseas Community Affairs Council, the Taipei Business Association in Singapore, and officials from the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.

In his address, Representative Liang encouraged the Championship participants to  give their best performance.  He pointed out that woodball was invented in Taiwan 28 years ago by Mr. Weng Ming-hui, President of the International Woodball Federation (IwbF).  Today, IwbF boasts members from over 40 countries and territories. Besides expressing his thanks to Dr Chong Tien Siong for his invitation, Representative Liang also commended him on his hard work in promoting woodball in Singapore.

This year’s Championship saw the participation of over 150 participants who hail from countries such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia,  Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong (China) and other countries.
