A delegation of four from Soochow University in Taiwan called on Director-General Charles Li of TECC in Chennai and visited Anna University on the afternoon of January 7, 2019 to explore opportunity of collaboration between Soochow University and well-established universities in Tamil Nadu. The delegation was led by Professor Shih-Ho Wang, Dean of International & Cross-Strait Academic Exchange. Delegates include Professor Chung-Tzer Liu, Associate Dean, School of Business, Dr. Fu-Sheng Shih, Assistant Professor and Director of International Affairs Center, and Mr. Rhein Li, Chinese Overseas & International Students Coordinator.

 

Director-General Charles Li also accompanied the delegation to call on Professor N. Rajendran, Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University. Both sides made presentation on the introduction of respective university and exchanged views on how to build up bilateral collaboration projects.

 

Missionaries of the Methodist church established Soochow University in 1900 in Jiangsu Province, China, making it China’s first Western-style university. When it was re-established in Taiwan in 1951, it became the first private university on the island. As befitting its motto, " Unto a full grown man”, Soochow University has striven to emphasize quality teaching, determined to do its absolute best to produce mature graduates with creative and practical abilities.
