In the evening of July 2, 2019, the world’s famous Formosa Circus Art (FOCA) troupe from Taiwan has staged their cultural performance “The Heart of Asia” at Rani Seethai Hall in Chennai, under the New Southbound Policy Cultural Tour sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan). The performance was highly praised by the audience in Chennai.
TECC in Chennai hosted the splendid event, co-sponsored by Surana & Surana International Attorneys, Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), Yes Bank, Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO), DT Next, National Institution for Quality and Reliability (NIQR) and All India Manufacturers' Organization (AIMO).
Dr. R. Nataraj, the MLA of Mylapore, members of the Diplomatic Corps, significant business dignitaries and companies representatives in Chennai and various educational institutions such as St. Britto's Educational Institutions, University of Madras, Anna University, VelTech University, SRM University, Dr. MGR University, Loyola College and other universities were represented. A professor from Tamkang University and a research scholar from National Cheng Chih University in Taiwan were also present. More than 300 spectators attended the event and the hall was full of vibrant and lively. The event was started with some videos projecting the high-tech industry developments in Taiwan.
Director-General Mr. Charles Li delivered the welcome address and thanked all the co-sponsors and partners. He emphasized the significant role of India in the NSB policy and asserted this show would enrich bilateral relations and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
