On 24 August 2019, Deputy Representative Steven Tai attended the opening ceremony of the Preliminary Screening of the Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC) 2019 at PIXEL, Singapore. Fifteen renowned judges from 6 countries were on the assessment panel to shortlist the most outstanding works for the finals of the competition.
In his address, Deputy Representative Tai thanked the Design Business Chamber Singapore and the panel of judges for their support. As a champion for creativity and imagination, Taiwan believes in supporting and nurturing talents in the art and design fields. Besides inspiring greater creativity and innovation, he hopes that the Design Competition will also foster mutual learning, sharing and understanding among the youths of the various participating countries.
In its 12th edition, the Taiwan International Student Design Competition is organized annually by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan and has grown to become the world’s largest students’ competition of its kind. The TISDC 2019 received over 21,000 entries from 66 countries.
