Australia & New Zealand Market Information Seminar

TAITRA held the Australia & New Zealand Market Information Seminar on October 6 (Wednesday). This online seminar has helped the delegates of the 2021 Taiwan Online Trade Mission to have better ideas on the Australasian market.

TAITRA invited Samantha Chang- Sourcing Team Leader, OfficeMax New Zealand OfficeMax New Zealand, and Tina Curtain - President, Melbourne Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce Melbourne Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce to take part as speakers and share their market insights with the participating Taiwanese firms.

DG Fiona Fan, Angela Kuo - the Director of the Economic Division at our office in Canberra, and Jack Liao - President General, Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce In Oceania were invited to give their remarks.

In her remarks, DG Fan pointed out that Australia, New Zealand and Singapore are Taiwan's important trading partners. Our government has endeavoured to deepen our trading relations with these three countries through our New South Bound policy and by formally applying to join the Comprehensive Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership. Our application has raised serious consideration from Australia and the rest of the incumbent members, and much of it is credited to our industrial girth, promulgated by our extraordinary firms and entrepreneurs.

The event was held as all country began to ease their border restrictions in light of the fading pandemic. It is an excellent way to assist Taiwanese firms to expand their businesses in markets in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.
