Representative Andrew Lee of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Brunei Darussalam donated 6,000 Taiwan-made medical masks, 1,000 anti-epidemic masks and other anti-epidemic medical supplies, breads and beverages to the Brunei National Isolation Centre (NIC) on October 18, 2021. These medical supplies were accepted by Mr. Raise bin Hj Talip, Procurement Officer of the NIC.
Following a charity campaign initiated by the Representative Office of donating 60 Taiwan-manufactured wheelchair to Tutong-based Brunei National Isolation Centre, in July 2020, this office has once again stepped up to support Brunei’s front line health staff and workers.
This donation is to echo and join the Brunei government-led combat against the pandemic, as well as to express its gratitude and admiration for the effort and sacrifices that the front-line heroes have made over the past two years. This gesture is also indeed an embodiment of the idea of “Taiwan can help, Taiwan is helping”, and will be serving as a catalyst to further enhance existing friendship between the peoples of Taiwan and Brunei.
