“Sustainable Innovation Challenge” – a joint effort between Taiwan Excellence and the architecture departments of two prominent Malaysian universities, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), made this event a resounding success.

Malaysian student Lin Zixing from UTAR clinched the championship with her work titled “PARA-SITE ‘The Annex for Extended Lifestyle”. The judging panel highly praised the entries, particularly Lin Zixing’s ingenious integration of the characteristics of “Taiwan Excellence,” demonstrating sustainability, innovation, practicality, remarkable aesthetics, and outstanding spatial interpretation.

This competition is one of Taiwan Excellence’s activities in participation with ARCHIDEX 2023. A total of 17 students participated, with six reaching the finals. The organizers expressed that this competition fosters exchange and collaboration between Taiwan Excellence enterprises and emerging talents in Malaysian architectural design while adhering to ESG principles.
