The Executive Yuan’s Department of Gender Equality (DGE) on Monday published the 2024 Gender at a Glance in R.O.C. (Taiwan) report. In 2023, the nation ranked sixth globally and first in Asia in Taiwan’s first ever inclusion in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Social Institutions and Gender Index.

The Women Make Waves International Film Festival from Taiwan is set to debut at the Forum des Images in Paris, celebrating the 30th anniversary of this pioneering Asian women’s film festival and showcasing Taiwan’s diversity. The festival will run from Sept. 19 to Oct. 8, showcasing 30 feature films, documentaries, short films, and a retrospecive film dedicated to the late Director Hu TAI-Ii (胡台麗).
