On the morning of October 13, President Tsai Ing-wen met with participants in the 2023 Yushan Forum. In remarks, President Tsai thanked the participants for their keen interest in issues concerning Taiwan, and for providing valuable insights and advice at the Yushan Forum. The president noted that Taiwan will continue to do all it can to uphold regional peace and stability, and that we will participate in international affairs more actively than ever and deepen partnerships with other nations.

President Tsai said that the New Southbound Policy lies at the core of our Indo-Pacific strategy, and that we are sending a message to the world that in the face of the mounting threats of authoritarianism and climate change, as well as a global restructuring of supply chains, Taiwan is a secure and reliable partner.
