ROC (Taiwan) citizenship granted to 28 foreign professionals in 2023

A total of 28 foreign nationals have been granted ROC (Taiwan) citizenship in 2023, spotlighting the government effort to attract and retain personnel from around the world, the Ministry of the Interior said Dec. 13.

2023 Human Rights Festival to take place in New Taipei

Presented by the National Human Rights Museum (NHRM), the 2023 Human Rights Festival will take place from Dec. 2 to Jan. 14, 2024, at the White Terror Jingmei Memorial Park in New Taipei. Titled “Freedom of the Soul,” this event is curated by renowned poet and film director Hung Hung (鴻鴻), casting light on human rights issues such as the White Terror in Taiwan, the democratic movement in Hong Kong, and the identity of indigenous people.

3 Americans win top prizes in foreign student Chinese speech contest

Three American students won the top prizes in Taiwan’s 2023 Foreign Students Chinese Public Speaking Competition, in which 68 students from 15 countries competed, according to the National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, which organized the event.

The Council of Indigenous Peoples organized the 2022 Immersive Indigenous Language Teaching Kindergarten Project – International Conference today (October 20) at National Dong Hwa University. Through keynote speeches, group discussions, and sharing of experiences by domestic and international indigenous language and culture experts, the event aimed to create more substantial strategies and development for immersive indigenous language teaching. Over 100 people participated in the event.

The 2024 Taiwan presidential and legislative elections are approaching. On November 15, Ministry of the Interior organizes anti-election bribery publicity activity at the first floor of National Immigration Agency Taipei City Service Center with the Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office that is affiliated with it, the Agency Against Corruption, the Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office of Taiwan, and new immigrants.

His involvement in the National Immigration Agency’s new second-generation training program during his undergraduate years led to his career as a social worker, helping people after graduation and putting in a lot of study to give back to society.

2023 Taiwan International Human Rights Film Festival (TIHRFF) titled “Gone with the War (煙硝離散—游尋天光),” curated by National Award for Arts winner Huang Ming-chuan (黃明川), commenced with Ukrainian director Alisa Kovalenko’s “We Will Not Fade Away.” Presented by the National Human Rights Museum, the 7th edition of TIHRFF focuses on the issues of war, technology, and migration.
