New Taipei City promotes New Immigrant Language Teaching Program

The New Taipei City Government Education Department is promoting a New Immigrant Language Teaching Program. The program will start in March. The program not only includes staff training and design courses, but also provides new immigrant language teachers in schools in New Taipei City.

As Children's day at the corner, NIA New Taipei City Service center held a parent-child family education course at Ren-ai elementary school in Luzhou district on March 5. The course attracted about 40 new immigrant students and their parents from Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos and other countries to participate the course.

Simplifying New Immigrant academic degree certification process

The K-12 Education Administration of Ministry of Education announces to simplify the New immigrant’s academic degree certificate process. Since 2016, the K-12 Education Administration (Ministry of Education) has been constructing a database that contains elementary and middle schools in Southeast Asia. They hope to guarantee new immigrant’s education and employment rights.

New Taipei City Government has been promoting a project “New Immigration Next Generation project” since 2020. On the first stage, the government held this project in 10 elementary schools, including Sanzhi Elementary School, to develop club activity classes that matched second-generation immigrant student’s interest, language and culture.

High school Students are Teaching Foreign Students Chinese

New Taipei Municipal Ching Shui High School (CSSH) held an activity called “How to Teach Foreigners Speak English”on Feb. 7th. During the activity, Taiwanese students will have to teach foreign students that are from 16 countries Chinese. The countries include Japan, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam, etc.

The Taiwan Lantern Festival was unveiled in DaPeng Bay of Donggang, Pingtung, on February 19 by a grand opening ceremony. Fourteen teams from Mie-Ken, Kochi-Ken, and Hokkaido of Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Hakka people and aboriginal people of Taiwan participated in the street party and parade at 2 pm along GuangFu Road of Donggang.
