On August 12, the WorldPride 2025 Taiwan Preparation Committee, jointly set up by Kaohsiung Pride (KHPride) and Taiwan Pride, released a statement indicating that it was being forced to cancel WorldPride 2025. The committee and InterPride had previously reached a consensus, agreeing to call the event WorldPride Taiwan. However, despite persistent efforts by the committee, InterPride reneged on the agreement, rigidly insisting that only the city name be used and that the event be called WorldPrid

MOFA once again condemns China’s military threats in the strongest terms, thanks international community for continuing to express just words of support for Taiwan

China has disregarded statements by numerous foreign governments that expressed condemnation and concern and called for an immediate halt of its military drills, continuing naval and air exercises in the waters surrounding Taiwan for several days. It has launched multiple missiles and dispatched numerous aircraft and vessels to enter Taiwan’s air defense identification zone and cross the Taiwan Strait median line.

MOFA adjusts entry regulations for foreign nationals in response to the CECC’s easing of border control measures

The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has announced that beginning July 25, 2022, entry restrictions to the Republic of China (Taiwan) will be further relaxed to allow foreign nationals to apply for a special entry permit (visa) for volunteer work, religious work, study of religious doctrine, internships, international exchanges, and the Working Holiday Schemes (Youth Mobility Programs). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will adjust visa regulations accordingly.
